Our Banquet Speaker

Our Banquet Speaker is Andy Wells. 

his family in a one-room house on a small family farm on west end of the Red Lake Indian Reservation.  As a teenager, Andy began using his creative mind to design and build boats, go-carts, “ham” radios, metal rockets, air-powered sleds, farm machinery, and tools.  In the fall of 1964, after two years at Bemidji State University, he began employment as a draftsmen doing engineering and production drawings at Polaris Industries in Roseau, MN.  It was during this time that he developed the Lil’ Andy snowmobile.  By the spring of 1965 production was started on the little snowmobile and Andy returned to Bemidji State University to complete his education in physics and industrial technology.
